With a wealth of experience as an Operations Manager and a true commitment to sustainability and employee wellbeing, we are thrilled to have Helen onboard. As we get to know her better, we asked Helen to share her insights on her role at IoT Horizon and her working life in general. So without further ado, let us introduce you to Helen Martin.

Positions I’ve Held

I served as an Operations Manager for almost six years in the ASHP industry, managing a talented team. In addition, I worked as an Operations Manager within the labour and immigration department for a dynamic business formation company in the Middle East. This experience allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the global business landscape and expand my skillset. Overall, my experience as an Operations Manager has been fulfilling, and I look forward to continuing my journey in this field with passion and dedication.

Why I Joined IoT Horizon

I knew from the first meeting with the Directors it was an exciting company with great energy with so much growth and interesting projects ahead. It was something completely new and different, and I felt extremely excited to join. The business is focused on sustainability and improving on employee’s wellbeing which has always been close to my heart.

As someone who has always been passionate about these issues, I felt an immediate connection to the company and its mission. I was excited by the prospect of working with such a dynamic and forward-thinking team, and I was eager to be a part of the growth and development of the company as it embarked on new and exciting projects.

The chance to work on something completely different was also incredibly appealing to me. I thrive on challenges and opportunities to learn and grow, and I knew that joining this company would provide me with exactly that.

Overall, my decision to join the company was based on a combination of factors – the energy and vision of the Directors, the company’s focus on sustainability and improving employee wellbeing, and the opportunity to work on exciting and innovative projects. I am thrilled to be a part of this team and to contribute to the company’s continued success.

Role at IoT Horizon

As the Head of Customer Service my role is focused on building and maintaining strong relationships with our customers. I am responsible for ensuring that all tasks assigned to me are completed to the highest possible standards, in line with the company’s values and goals.

One of my key strengths is my ability to lead and motivate a team. I have developed strong leadership skills over the years, and I work closely with my colleagues to ensure that we are all working towards the same goals. This involves setting clear expectations and providing regular feedback, as well as creating a positive and supportive work environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.

In my role, I also prioritise effective and timely communication between departments. I understand the importance of a seamless delivery process for our customers, and I work closely with colleagues in other areas of the company to ensure that we are all working together in a professional and cohesive manner.

Overall, my role in Customer Services is focused on delivering exceptional service to our customers, while also working to build strong relationships and promote the values and goals of the company. I take considerable pride in my work and am committed to making a positive impact in everything that I do.

About Me

Just as we purchased a property for a full renovation in the Lake district, COVID hit. Thankfully, this allowed us more time to work on the renovation and design. It was all completed at the end of 2021. Challenging work, a few crossed words, but loved everything about the journey of Rydal Cottage!!!
